malta —Tim Anton Eklund of Malta, Mt, passed away April 22, 2015, near Southfork, Colorado.
Services will be Tuesday morning at 11 am and Viewing will be held Monday at 7pm at the Kirkwood funeral home in Malta, Mt.
Tim was born and raised in Malta, Mt. to George and Shirley (Trottier) Eklund on March 13, 1962. Tim attended school in Malta and received the highest score in Montana in Science. This gift lead him to his wonderful mechanical skills and his career in the oil field.
Tim worked for Weatherford and his skills took him all over the world to many different countries and throughout the Nation. His travels allowed his easy going spirit to be enjoyed by many different people, no matter what language they spoke, Tim had a gift that captured peoples hearts.
Tim loved working on vehicles and making people smile. Whenever someone was having a bad day or made a bad choice, he would grab his bible and head to brighten their day whether they were 2 miles away or 200.
Tim had three children Shannon Eklund (granddaughters Ylina, Xiadani); Georgia Eklund (granddaughter Jordan); Nikkitta Eklund (grandson Jacobi) all of Colorado. He met his love Joan Skalican in West Virginia and enjoyed many years with her until her passing on Oct. 2, 2014.
Tim's grandkids were his light and his love Joan was his everything and he enjoyed his visits every chance he had.
Tim is survived by his parents George and Shirley (Trottier) Eklund of Malta; brother Tracy Eklund (Cindy) of Malta, Sisters Lana (Eklund) Sundseth (Bruce), Barbie (Eklund) Kountz (Lincoln) Glasgow, Misty (Eklund) Geer (Jason) of Havre. Three children Shannon Eklund, Georgia Eklund, and Nikkitta Eklund all of Colorado. Four grandchildren Ylina, Xiadani, Jordan and Jacobi. Several nieces and nephews.
Tim is preceded in death by his brother Coby Eklund, his wife Joan Skalican, Grandparents John and Ann Eklund and John and Anne Trottier.

It´s hard to believe that a decade has passed since I last saw my grandfather. I can still vividly recall his unique scent-a comforting blend of hard work, earth, and warmth that filled the room whenever he came home. He would arrive, his hands caked with the grime of a long day´s labor, yet despite the fatigue etched on his face, his spirit shone through in every conversation.
Even as his hearing began to fade, he never let that diminish his desire to connect. He would lean in close, his eyes sparkling with mischief and wisdom, making sure I felt truly heard and cherished. Those precious moments-filled with laughter, stories, and invaluable lessons-shaped my childhood in ways that will stay with me forever.
Grandpa taught me the meaning of perseverance and love, and I find myself wishing for just one more chance to sit with him, to share the gaps of my life since we've been apart. You were not just a grandfather to me; you were a guiding light, illuminating the path of resilience and compassion. Your legacy, rich with love and life´s lessons, will forever live on in all of us who had the privilege of knowing you

Hey mepaw, its me ylina eklund. Cant believe its been almost 7 years since u passed.. I was 8 when it happened.. Im 15 now.. Yet sometimes i think of u and cant help but shed tears. I still have the stuffed bear u gave me, its wearing the bib i wore when i was born.. Im not sure how this works, if its printed or something. However i just wanna say i still think of u even almost 7 years later... Love you. -ylina
