Betty Anne Newton died peacefully, surrounded by her family on September 7, 2021. She was born to Irving and Elizabeth (Jones) Cannon in Greeley, Colorado on May 6, 1926. She is survived by her children Donna Newton, David Newton (Gail), and Nancy Gutierrez (Pedro); grandchildren Cherisa Gutierrez, Albert Gutierrez, and Travis Gutierrez; and great-grandchildren Alonso Tapia, Jr., Angelonna Tapia and Michael Tapia. Winnie, her loyal canine companion, lived with her for 10 years and canine companion Willie lived with her for 6 years. Betty Anne married Donald Newton on May 13, 1946. They celebrated 64 years of marriage before his death in 2009. She resided in Greeley until 1984 and then moved to Allenspark. Together they built their dream home. She was the Business Manager of the Allenspark Wind for nearly 30 years, and she was an active member of the Stich and Rippers Quilting group. Private family services will be held later. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Allenspark Wind, The Old Gallery in Allenspark, The Longmont Humane Society, the Allenspark Volunteer Fire Department, or a charity of one's choice.
