Michael Santeramo Obituary

Michael Paul Santeramo, beloved pizza man, age 63, was welcomed into Heaven by his family- father Lawrence, mother June, and sisters Rene and Kathy-on Wednesday, January 26, 2022. Mike was born on September 15, 1958 in Hibbing, Minnesota, later moving to his forever hometown of Greeley, Colorado. Those continuing on his legacy include his loving wife, Shelly; sons Landen (Neely), Jorden (Chelsea), and Tyler; and extended family and many close friends. In 1977, Mike graduated from Greeley West High School, earning a diploma, but more importantly, amazing friends that lasted a lifetime. He spent much of his early years working in the kitchen with his mother at his first family restaurant in Greeley. Mike valued spending quality time with his kids, arranging his schedules to maximize opportunities for fun. He was the fun dad in the neighborhood, taking Landen and Jorden boating and camping most weekends. Mike met his wife and partner in all adventures, Shelly, in 1995. They married in 2009. They loved taking drives or motorcycle rides in the mountains and "living the good life." They worked hard and played hard, always together. Mike had many passions. He loved working with his hands, whether fixing a carburetor, building a basement casino, or crafting a pizza. He loved motors of all kinds, whether they were on the water or on the land, two wheels or four. In 2008, he took a chance and returned to his roots by opening Santeramo's Pizza House with his son Jorden. As co-owner, Mike effortlessly welcomed the Greeley community, making every evening feel like a family meal at home and every person who walked in the door feel like a friend. When he wasn't at the restaurant, Mike loved to take his family on beach vacations, making sure to end every day watching a beautiful sunset. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to go out to your favorite local spot, order some food and drinks, and have yourself a good time. That was Mike's happy place-family, friends, and food. Please join us to celebrate his life on February 19, 2022 at Platte River Fort Resort & Event Center in Greeley. An open house will be held from 12:00-4:00pm. Mike will be remembered forever for his wonderful sense of humor, his infectious laugh, and his strive to always enjoy the little things in life.

I miss him, he was a great guy. One of my memories of him was his customized van in high school, and when we cruise in it past Central in a informal homecoming parade.

Still hard to comprehend he is not with us. Great guy, when you saw him and talked to him, he always made you feel like you were his best friend. We will miss seeing him around. God's peace to Shelly and the boys.

We often enjoy the restaurant--a group of friends and I were there on January 8th and enjoyed the room with the round table. We love that table because we can all sit together and see each other and visit together in one conversation. It will continue to be one of our favorite restaurants.

I still can't believe he is gone. We had our rehearsal dinner there and were treated like royalty. I have known him since Jorden and Makaelynn were in preschool around 30 years. Mike rest in Jesus until we are all reunited again. Prayers for all of you... My family will continue to support Santeramo's Pizza House.
