Dr. Richard Bond was an individual who influenced my life personally and professionally. I loved the fact that he came to talk with me in my office instead of calling up to his from time to time. He always expressed that he was a human being, not the President of MCC. HE put his pants on one leg at a time. He could help me laugh. He helped me dream, plan, invision. I cried when he left MCC, but I was grateful to continue our friendship when I moved to Greeley in 1998. Reva was a huge partner in all that he did.
My love to each member of his family. I am eternally grateful to carry Dick Bond in my heart.

I first met Dick Bond when I was a student at UNC in the late seventies. I remember he always wore a bow tie. Later, he bought a car from me, a Volvo station wagon. More recently I welcomed Dr. Bond to many Democratic functions. As a retired teacher, I so appreciated his active support of education, in any form. He was very charming and had an easy sense of humor. I am glad to have known him and his impact on Northern Colorado will be evident for years to come. He was a great man and will be missed. My condolences to his family and all who knew him.

I I first met President Bond as an undergrad at UNC! He frequently walked the campus between classes. His always present smile, infectious energy, and properly placed bow tie greeting thousands of students by name! He always had time to lend an ear to a student who asked for a few seconds of his time. He was a compassionate leader who made impactful decisions that helped generations.

As the University of Northern Colorado's first campus ombudsman, I was privileged to work with Dick Bond during his presidency. I found him to be a consistent student advocate, a tireless supporter of the faculty, and a creative and fair-minded administrator. He, his infectious smile, and his ubiquitous bow tie will be greatly missed.
