Virginia Powell Obituary

Virginia "Giny" Powell of Ft. Collins, Colorado passed away January 30th, 2023. Giny was born August 17th, 1948 in Powell, Wyoming to Everett and Myrtle Imlay. She married Richard (Dick) Powell on November 7th, 1985, and they were happily married almost 35 years prior to his passing. Giny obtained her nursing degree 1974. She continued working in the medical industry throughout her career. She enjoyed growing plants and flowers, collecting rocks and minerals, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was loved by many and deeply loved everyone, unconditionally. She was an amazing combination of warmth and kindness, laughter and love. Overlooking faults, encouraging dreams and celebrating every success. Giny is survived by her children Lisa Gates, William Kucera, Alana Florez, Elizabeth Rodriguez, 23 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Linda Reich, Mike Imlay and Rick Imlay. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick Powell, her grandson Jesse Houck and her parents Everett Imlay and Myrtle Coulby. A celebration of life service will be held on February 10th, 2023 at 10:00 AM with a reception following at Allnutt Funeral Service, Macy Chapel, 6521 W 20th St, Greeley. I worked with Giny at Quest Diagnostic, I remember one time she was speechless when a famous local singer came in. He was one of her favorites. She could barely draw his blood but got it done. She was as giddy as a teenager all day. She will be missed by all who knew her. Rest in peace Giny.
