Adolph Ziarnik Obituary
Our World War II Purple Heart Veteran joined his Savior on Sunday, September 14, 2014. Adolph Ziarnik, age 90, Ashwaubenon, was born on September 11, 1924 in Manitowoc to the late Michael and Josephine (Labinski) Ziarnik. We lost a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Adolph served in the US Army in Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe and was wounded in the FAME campaign. He received the Purple Heart on July 27, 1944 and was honorably discharged in 1945. Adolph married Patricia McClellan on September 9, 1977 in Manitowoc.
Adolph was one of the founders of Van's Athletic Club in Manitowoc. He was the owner of Ziarnik Glass Company in Two Rivers for 28 years. He played semi-pro football and softball and was inducted into the Hall of Fame. Adolph was an avid hunter and enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was a member of the American Legion Sullivan-Wallen Post # 11 and the DAV Russell Leicht Chapter #3.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia; four sons, John (Denise) Higgins of Deerfield, James Higgins of Green Bay, Joseph (April) Higgins of Manitowoc and Jeffrey (Lori) Higgins of Katy, TX; 14 grandchildren, Nate, Kaytlynn, Miles, Ian, Miranda, Aydan, Ashley, Amanda, Cameron, Devin, Andrea, Dylan, Jaxon and Brianna; a great-grandson, Brandon; brother-in-law, Richard McClellan of Milwaukee; sisters-in-law, Sonia McClellan of Green Bay, Shirley Scroggins of Manitowoc and many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly in 1975; eight brothers and sisters; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue from 4:30 until the American Legion Post #11 service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, September 19, 2014 at Hope Community Church, 4408 County Highway B, Manitowoc, from 10:00 am until the memorial service at 11:00 am with Reverend Curt Vanderstelt officiating. Full military honors will follow. Inurnment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Adolph's name.

Pat, so sorry for you loss. Adolph was a special man and a friend to anyone he met. He was one of the few "honorary" Wards "non-employees" and left a lasting impression on the people who worked there.My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this sad time.
