Alton Philibeck Obituary

Philibeck, Al

Alton Philibeck, 82 of De Pere died on January 18, 2013. He was born July 13, 1930 to the late John and Gertrude Philibeck. Al served in the U.S. Navy from 1949 to 1950. He married Norma Nicklaus in June of 1951. Al returned to the Navy in 1952 and served until 1956. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. In 1962 they moved to Green Bay and Al took a job with Ft. Howard Paper, and retired from there in 1990. Al was involved in youth hockey for 15 years and is a member of the Tin Can Sailors. He also belonged to the American Legion, the VFW and the De Pere Men's Club. Al always enjoyed going to Navy reunions and wintering in Texas.

Al is survived by his wife Norma, their son Dennis (Joan) Philibeck, daughter Julie (Jerome) Lopas, and son Dale (Fiancé Kim Wallish) Philibeck. Two grandchildren; Jamie (Michael) Soch, Jason (Mellissa) Philibeck, and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving him is his brother Gordon (Faye) Philibeck, sister-in-law Carol Philibeck, and brother-in-law Fred (Carol) Edwin.

Friends may at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive in De Pere after 9am Tuesday January 22, 2013. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family.
