Beatrice Talbot Obituary

Talbot, Beatrice Ann

Beatrice Ann Talbot, 71, Waupaca, Wis., formerly of Weyauwega, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, May 2, 2014. She was born on June 5, 1942, in Chicago, the second of three daughters to Steven and Ella (Koskie) Grishow. Bea attended and graduated from St. Anthony de Padua School of Nursing in Chicago, Ill. On Oct. 8, 1964, Bea was united in marriage to Harold E. Talbot and to this union two children were born. Harold preceded Bea in death on April 17, 1987. Bea and her husband resided in Schiller Park, Ill., before relocating to Weyauwega in 1975. A few years following the passing of her husband, Bea relocated to Waupaca, where she had resided ever since. Bea's proud career in nursing spanned over five decades with the majority of those years spent at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Almost immediately following her retirement from the Veterans Home, Bea began working at Bethany Pines in Waupaca where the residents weren't just residents, they were her friends. Bea was very passionate about nursing, especially for the elderly. Quite simply the only thing greater than her passion for nursing was the compassion she had for every resident under her care…and expected nothing less from those working with her. Bea enjoyed both gardening and crocheting. She always seemed to find time to crochet an afghan for most everyone in the family, treasured by all who received them. She loved just sitting at her kitchen table with friends and family, chatting over a cup of coffee and treats. Bea will be remembered as a lady who didn't seem to know the word "no", she would always put the needs of others, whether you were family or friend, before her own and, of course, her loving tendency to be somewhat stalwart. Bea had a true humane heart for all the dogs she had cared for in her life, lastly her faithful companion Charlie. Bea beamed with pride of her children, being so supportive as they became adults with their careers. It was no secret that the two most special gifts she ever received were her two precious grandchildren and was proud to be their "nanie".

Bea will be forever in the hearts of her daughter, Cindy (David) Westenberg, Oconto, Wis.; son, Rob (Betsey) Talbot, Alma, Wis; her two precious grandchildren, Christy and Davey Westenberg; her two loving sisters, Gale Ladubec of Weyauwega; and Gwynn (Dick) Schroeder of Waupaca; nieces and nephews, Steve, Don, Susan, Nancy, Mary Kay, Kent, Rhonda, Jeanne, Matt, Vickie, Joyce, Sue and Jim; also by many other relatives and friends. Bea was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; her brother-in-law, Albert Ladubec; and brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Bernice Talbot.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 8, at 11 a.m. at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Weyauwega. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Weyauwega. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Cline-Hanson-Dahlke funeral home, Weyauwega and again on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the Mass at the church. Online memories or condolences may be sent to www.talbotfuneralhomes.com. Talbot Family Funeral Homes with the assistance of Cline-Hanson-Dahlke funeral home are in charge of arrangements. Bea's children, Cindy and Rob, would like to express to both aunt Gale and aunt Gwynn the most sincerest thank you for everything you did for our mom and your sister. I am so sorry to hear of the passing of you mom. She was truly a wonderful caring person. One of the very best nurses I ever worked under at St. Josephs Residence in New London. God has found a most caring angel in Bea.

Bea was a wonderful person. She always brought a smile to my face. I will never forget the last time I saw her. She was so happy as she was going home from Bethany the next day. She gave me a hug and said see you later. She blessed this world with her love and now she will bless the heavens with it. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time of sorrow.
