Charles Leininger Obituary

Leininger, Charles "Chuck"

Charles "Chuck" Leininger, 63, De Pere, passed away unexpectedly Monday, June 17, 2013 at his home. He was born October 20, 1949 in Green Bay, son of the late Charles and Elvira (Lasee) Leininger. Chuck graduated from East De Pere High School, and served his country in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1971, where he was a Recon Photographer in Vietnam. He married Lynn Coenen on October 21, 1972. Chuck started his photography career with his parents, Charles and Vi, photographing weddings at the age of sixteen. After the passing of his father, Charles in 1973, Chuck took over the family studio. "Photography by Leiningers" moved to Bellevue where he and Dan Stoller operated the "Photo Art Center." He later moved the business to his home on Scrays Hill where "Leiningers of Ledgeview" is today.

When Chuck didn't have a camera in his hand, he enjoyed making memories with family and friends. He spent time camping in Silver Glenn Springs, Florida, fishing, squirrel hunting and building the home and studio on Scrays Hill. Chuck and family boated for many summers in Door County and Michigan where he created countless friendships with the boating family. He loved spending time with his grandkids.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Lynn; children: Brooklyn (Drew) LeBeau and Brittney (Tony) Stich; grandchildren: Mathias, Charlotte and Eleanor Stich; brothers: Michael (Susan) Leininger, Jon (Cynthia) Leininger, Terry (Susan) Leininger, Cheryl Lenzi; mother-in-law, Millie Coenen; and in-laws: Vicki and Bob Heuvelmans and Beckie and Jim Rottier.

Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, Elvira; father, Charles; step-father, Walter Free; step-father, Ed Pouwels; and father-in-law, Louis Coenen.

Family and friends may call Thursday, June 20, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Drive, Ledgeview, with Fr. Richard Getchel officiating. Cotter Funeral Home and Cremation Service, De Pere, is assisting the family. Online memorials at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.

The family respectfully requests flowers not be sent, but memorials may be made to support Spina Bifida Wisconsin, Ltd, 830 N. 109th Street, Suite 6, Wauwatosa, WI, 53226 in honor of his grandson.

As a longtime portrait customer, I will be missing Chuck very much ...my kids still have a memory of him giving them a nickel to hold under their hand to keep them still during a photo session...it worked! And I will always remember him kicking off his shoes during a session (if he was relaxed WE were relaxed!) After almost 30 years I still get compliments on my wedding portait to which he received a Kodak award for. Talents so many...may God bless his family
