Dennis John Peot
Suamico - Dennis John Peot, 79, passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020. He was born on September 15, 1940 in Little Suamico to Robert and Leone (Heim) Peot.
Dennis grew up on the family farms in Little Suamico. On October 17, 1959, he married Gail Gritt at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Dennis worked in construction for many years and worked with his brother, Bob in the family business until his retirement. He had an incredible work ethic. Whether overseeing a project or "chasing the leaves" in his yard, Dennis took great pride in his work. One of Dennis' favorite things away from work was snowmobiling and he was a member of the Snowbirds Snowmobile Club for many years.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gail Gritt; sons, Mark (Sue) Peot, Steve (Laura) Peot, Tracy (Brenda) Peot, and Paul (Christine) Peot; 13 grandchildren: Logan and Landon Peot; Derek Marino; Alex (Chris) Calawerts; Andi (Mike) Cellucci; Grace Peot; Jennifer (Adam) Kelm; Janie (Josh) McKeon; Spencer (Erica), Carly (Greg), and Ryan (Tilly) Peot; Ian and Elliott Peot; two great-grandchildren, Nora Peot and Charlotte Kelm; his siblings, Robert (Melodee) Peot, Jane White, and Jean Peot; brother-in-law, Gordon Gritt; sisters-in-law, Sue Gritt, Missy Gritt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, John and Carol Gritt; brothers-in-law, Glenn, Gary, Gregg Gritt, Richard White; and sisters-in-law, Gloria Kruse and Gladys Dehn.
Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, July 24; followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 4 p.m. with Rev. James Lucas officiating. A mask is strongly recommended. Those who are sick are asked to stay home.
