Ethel "Teddy" Mikkelson age 88, Gillett, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2014. She was born to the late Albert and Alma (Johnson) Anderson on June 20, 1925. Ethel taught school in Spruce before marrying Dale Mikkelson on October 27, 1951 at Section Eight Baptist Church in Pound. Teddy was a Substitute Teacher for 3 area School Districts. The couple farmed in the Town of Maple Valley until moving to Brillion in 1964. They retired in 1988 and the couple has lived in the City of Gillett from 1993 until the present time. Ethel and Dale performed as a family duet for many weddings and funerals over the years. As their 2 sons developed their musical talents, they formed a Family Gospel String Band. Ethel is a member of Maple Valley Community Church.

Ethel is survived by her husband, Dale of Gillett; 2 sons, Rodney (Laine) Mikkelson of Oshkosh, Kent (Vickie) Mikkelson of Clintonville; 3 sisters, Edith Sellen of Lena, Delores Sellen of Oconto Falls and Norene Micoley of Oconto Falls; 9 grandchildren, Erin (Peter) Franzen, Melissa (Trent) Thomas, Kelly Mikkelson, Ben Mikkelson, Jill Mikkelson, Corey (Stefanie) Mikkelson, Derek Mikkelson, Bryce Mikkelson and Katie Thompson; 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her 3 sisters, Ellen, Irene and Vera.

Visitation will be held at Maple Valley Community Church on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 9 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor Rick Cooney and Pastor Jim Jensen officiating.
