Francis Podoski Obituary
Francis "Doc" J. Podoski, 78, Howard, formerly of Coleman, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2015. He was born on Oct. 8, 1936 in the Town of Beaver to the late Frank and Mary (Fendryk) Podoski. He graduated from Coleman High School in 1954. Francis married Janice Thibodeau on Oct. 13, 1956 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Coleman where they were members for many years. He was employed at Chadwick's Mfg. for 10 years and then as plant manager at Friday Canning Corp. for 29 years. Prior to retirement Doc was a member of the Coleman Fire Dept. for over 30 years and served 25 years as chief, the Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, Coleman Rescue squad, Coleman Village Board and most recently a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard. He enjoyed hunting, but there was nothing more important to Doc than his family whom he loved spending time with. Nothing made him happier than being able to spoil his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Janice; children, David (Dawn) Podoski; Lee (Sue) Podoski; Lynn Podoski; Karen (Craig) Compton; grandchildren, Heidi Barrette; Jill Podoski; Mitch (Sarah) Compton; Casey Compton; Spencer Compton; Eric Podoski; Kalynn Podoski; great grandchildren, MyKaela, Jake, Jack, Jase and Haiden; in-laws, Roger (Marge) Thibodeau; Peggy (Byron) Heisel; Arlene Hueble and last but not least his ever faithful canine companion, Chance.
Francis was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie; his parents; sister, Bernice Gould; in-laws, Art and Laverna (Hower) Thibodeau.
Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2561 Glendale Ave., Howard, on Friday, Jan. 9, 2015 from 9:30 until 11:30 a.m. with mass to follow. Rev. John Bergstadt will be officiating. Burial will be at St. Johns cemetery Coleman WI. Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFunera lHome.com
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Woodside Lutheran Home, Bellin Hospital 2nd Floor and Unity Hospice for their compassion and care.

As a caregiver, we take care of a lot of people. Sometimes we get special people that touch us very differently. Doc was one of those people! We Loved Doc at Woodside and we will all miss him very much! Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you! ??
