Mizorek, Frank F.
Frank F. Mizorek, 88, Oconto Falls, died peacefully Sunday, October 16, 2016 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 4, 1927 in Two Rivers to Ben and Anna (Krizizke) Mizorek. Frank was raised on the family farm in the Morgan-Chase area and worked at a local grocery store and helped neighbors on their farms and fields. Also in his early years, Frank worked as a pinsetter and enjoyed bowling often with friends at local bowling alleys. He also enjoyed going to local dances with friends, roller skating, playing baseball and had the pride of owning some antique autos and two motorcycles. As a young man, Frank moved to Houghton, MI and worked at Blazer's Logging Camp before returning to the area and being employed by the Northern Shoe Factory in Pulaski.
In 1953, Frank met his sweetheart at a dance and on June 19, 1954 he married Marleen Hafeman at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chase. The couple lived in the Village of Howard for 45 years where Frank was employed at Chapin and Amundson Construction, working as a pipe layer putting in water lines in Kewaunee, Green Bay and Lambeau Field. He also worked part time trucking and delivering for Lasch Wrecking. Frank was last employed at the former Alwin Manufacting in Green Bay as a United Steel Worker for 25 years, retiring in 1992.
Frank enjoyed remodeling, woodcrafts and making yard ornaments, particularly light houses. His greatest achievement during retirement was building his vacation home at White Potato Lake near Pound, a place the couple enjoyed for 18 years. While living at the lake, he enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing on the pontoon boat and watching Packer games with family and friends. Frank will fondly be remembered as having a lovable personality and always being available to lend a helping hand.
Frank and Marleen enjoyed many motorcoach tours and traveled throughout the United States, visiting their children and friends. On their 25th wedding anniversary, the couple traveled to New York and Niagara Falls and on their 50th, went to the Caribbean with family.
