Stangel, James R.

James R. Stangel, 72, of Ashwaubenon, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2013, due to Mesothelioma. He was born April 19, 1941, in Algoma. Jim proudly served his country in the United States Army. On July 6, 1963, he married the love of his life, Janet Biersteker, at St. Mary of the Angel's Church, Green Bay.

Jim worked over 20 years at Robinson Metal & Roofing. He later started Stangel Construction with his son, Travis, in 1993. Jim loved to work, but was forced to retire in 2000 due to prostate cancer, which he did beat. Jim enjoyed going up north, parking cars for Packer games, playing cards, and especially spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Janet; parents, Lorraine and Norbert Klarkowski; sister, Jackie Servais; children, Kandi (Jeff) Fischer, Travis (Jill) Stangel, and Renee' (Robert) Ohrmundt, all of Shawano; grandchildren, Nicole (Jay) Shipla, Adam Jahnke, Danielle (Tommy) Ejnik, Michael Stangel, Taryn Freeman, Cody, Casey, and Kylee Stangel, Ryan (Kristen) Ohrmundt, and Kayla Buettner; great-grandchildren, Jameson, Keegan, Briella, Aidian, Taylan, Teagan, Trinity, Levi, and Cataleya; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Lola Linsmeier, Pete (Joann), Bruce (Kathy), and Patrick (Yvonne) Biersteker, Nancy (Jim) Rothe, and Roger Biersteker; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ronald Servais.
