Jerome Thier Obituary

Jerome A. Thier, 75, Howard, died Dec. 26, 2011, after a long battle with lung disease. He was born in Chicago on June 4, 1936, to the late Anthony and Marie (Hannipal) Thier. Jerome served during peacetime in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged. He was a farmer and electrician. Jerome was a devout man and loved to serve the church, being the fix-it man. He was a tinkerer, seemingly able to fix just about anything.

Survivors include his wife, Judy; children, Don Thier, Barbara (Chad) Marks, Tom Sargeant, Dean (Susan) Thier, Jon (Rhonda) Sargeant, Bethany Thier; grandchildren, Rachel and Taylor Marks, Lexi, Isabella and Jaelee Sargeant; brother, Tony (Wilma) Thier; sisters, Rita (Chip) Loula, Mary Ann (Bill) Hein.

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may call at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2561 Glendale Ave., Howard, on Thursday, Dec. 29, from 10 until 11 a.m. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Thursday at the church with Deacon Manny Torres officiating. Online condolences welcome at www.PfotenhauerFuneralHome.com
