Kurt Leonoff

Ashwaubenon - Kurt M. Leonoff, 67, Ashwaubenon, died peacefully Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at his home following a courageous 21-month fight with (brain cancer) glioblastoma.

The son of Robert and Eleanor (Kruzich) Leonoff was born March 10, 1954, in Stambaugh, MI. Kurt grew up in Caspian, MI and was a 1972 graduate of West Iron County High School. Following high school he graduated from Ferris State University in 1976 with a degree in business management/marketing.

On September 13, 1980, he married Barbara S. Hackner at Resurrection Parish in Green Bay.

Kurt had been employed by Morley Murphy/CED in Green Bay for his entire career, first as a salesman and eventually as manager of the electrical wholesale distributor. He retired in July, 2018.

Kurt enjoyed spending time at the lake with his wife, kids, and grandkids. He spent many years going to hunting camp in Prentice with his good buddies and son, Rob. Kurt enjoyed keeping up with his grandkids' sports and activities. He was very proud of his children and eight grand- children. He enjoyed cooking large meals for his family. Kurt and Barb were fortunate to have traveled the world. Most of all, Kurt brought fun and humor wherever he went. He really knew how to have a good time, the jokester and life of the party. Kurt was a loyal husband, father, and friend.

In addition to his wife, Barb, he is survived by the couple's three children: Robert (Heidi) Leonoff, Little Suamico, and their sons, Connor and Mason; Kelly (Steve) Wehausen, DePere, and their sons, Griffin, Fletcher and Briggs; Kayte (Jeremy) Balza, New Franken, and their children, Kaleb, MaKenna and Wyatt; a brother, Bill (Sharon) Leonoff, Crystal Falls, MI and their children, Shannon (Dan) Tadiello and Michale (Diana) Peters; sister-in-law, Ann Hackner, Strongsville Ohio, mother-in-law, Sue Hackner, Green Bay; along with aunts, cousins, and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Eleanor Leonoff; father-in-law, Giles Hackner; and grandparents.

Friends are invited to gather with the family on Sunday, July 25, at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida St., Green Bay, from 2-5 p.m. with a parish wake service at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Monday, from 10-11 a.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. with Fr. Matt Simonar presiding. Burial will take place in Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River, MI.
