Libbie Zoglman Obituary

Zoglman, Libbie Ann

August 20, 1940 -

January 7, 2014

Libbie Ann (Brunner) Zoglman passed away at home, at the age of 73, on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014. Libbie was best known for her love of family and faith. She was born to A.N. and Elithe (Chapin) Brunner of Leopolis, Wis., as the youngest of five children. After attending the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, she married Thomas W. Zoglman on April 18, 1964 and raised five children, all of whom fulfilled their parent's wishes to forge their own path in life wherever it led them. While raising her family in partnership with Tom, Libbie found time to be an active participant in a variety of organizations, including as District Governor of the Woman's Club of Wisconsin, provided music accompaniment for Lena Public school students for Solo Ensemble competition, and performed many volunteer duties for St. Mary Parish in Peshtigo, Wisc including being a commissioned Minister of Communion and a parish organist.

Libbie also had a strong love of sports, spending many a night as the official scorekeeper for Coleman High School basketball games and attending weekend Leopolis Bulldogs baseball games as tribute to her father, who commissioned the still thriving Badger Amateur Baseball Association (BABA) nearly 70 years ago. It was not uncommon for her to play the role of historian, regaling stories of how she and her brothers and sisters, followed their patriarch every weekend to watch several league contests across Shawano County, ensuring that the game was played as it should be - for the love of it without egos or profit.

Libbie's love of life, energy, and always looking for a chance to dance will be missed by her many friends and family.

Libbie's life purpose lives on through her husband of 49 years, Thomas Zoglman; her daughters, Marnie Zoglman (David Oates), San Diego, Calif.; Marchell Schuman (George), Rio Rancho, N.M.; and Elithe Zoglman, Dusten, Fla.; her sons, Blake (Marta Ishaq), Lake Oswego, Ore.; and Brendan from Milwaukee. Thrilling her, most especially, were her grandchildren, Isabel and Bryce Schuman, Reece and Beckett Zoglman. Libbie is also survived by her siblings, Merlin Brunner, Appleton; Leticia (Brunner) Mader, West Bend; Ramona (Brunner) Hanson, Wittenburg; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Libbie was preceded in death by her parents, A.N. and Elithe (Chapin) Brunner, and brother, Emereth Brunner.

Visitation will be held at St. Mary Church in Peshtigo, Wis., on Sunday, Jan. 12, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a funeral Mass and celebration of life at the same location on Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Father Luke Ferris officiating. Libbie will be interred at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Leopolis, Wis. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a memorial fund benefiting Wisconsin Foundation for School Music, Wisconsin Center for Music Education and the Wisconsin Society of Mayflower Descendants.

Marnie and your family,
I am so sorry to hear about your mom passing away. It was always fun running into your parents at the Barn Tavern when we were up visiting during the summers. She was always full of news about all the kids and a joy to talk to.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Tom & Family,

We are just shocked to hear that Libbie died. Our most sincere sympathy to all of you. Larry & I so enjoyed our friendship with Libbie. Of course, sports was our major binding. We are planning on coming to either the visitation or funeral. Thinking of all of you.
