Marian Louise Maier

Green Bay - Marian Louise Maier, 93, passed away Wednesday, January 20, 2021. She was born on October 17, 1927, in Camden, New Jersey to Harry and Louise (Hefti) Packman.

Marian attended school, kindergarten through college, in La Crosse, WI. In 1953, she married Harold "Harry" Maier, Jr. Marian began her career as a primary grade teacher, and taught in Portage, Sheboygan, and Baraboo, WI. When her children were older, she was a substitute teacher for many years in the Green Bay School District.

Marian is survived by her children, Hal (Sue), Liz, Martha (Mike Filigenzi) and Tom (Chris); nine grandchildren, Katy, Ryan and Devon Maier, Isaac, Erin and Evan Wallace, Ella Filigenzi, Allie and Nicole Maier; and great-granddaughter, Brynlee Wallace.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother Harry (Joan) Packman.

As Marian wished, no service will be held. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family. Don't put me by a flowerpot.

Don't mount me on a table

With an artificial fern.

Don't park me in the front of church

When it's time to say good-bye.

I'd rather be an absentee

At the service when I die.

When you make arrangements

Leave my ashes out.

I don't want them in the aisle

With visitors about.

Sing your songs and pray your prayers

And think about yourself.

Cuz we all know that one day too

You'll wind up on the shelf.
