Nicole "Nikki" D. (Meyer) VanderHeyden, 31, Green Bay, died tragically on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Nikki was born on March 29, 1985 in Manitowoc the daughter of Steve and Vicki (Junk) Meyer. She was a graduate of Denmark High School with the class of 2003. Nikki furthered her education at U.W.G.B. with a B.S. Degree with a double major of Science and Education graduating in 2010. She dedicated 6 years as a substitute teacher for the Green Bay Area Public School System. Nikki was a Mom first and was devoted to her children and always gave selflessly to make sure they were protected and cared for. She was a natural person who loved the outdoors and fitness~ she had an organic and holistic approach to her life. Nikki found peace and joy in the simple things in life that most would take for granted such as hiking, nature walks or even going to the zoo. She had a zest for life and a great spiritual energy living life to the fullest each and every day. Nikki cared deeply for those she loved and family was #1 in her life always! She was a loving and caring soul who always had a beautiful smile to those she met along this journey called life~ she will always be lovingly remembered and sorrowfully missed.
Nikki is survived by her three little angels Mikayla, Tyler and Dylan, her loving family mother and father Vicki and Steve Meyer, one sister Heather Meyer, 2 brothers Brent Meyer and Brandon Meyer, one nephew Landon, her paternal grandmother Gayle (Dave) Picard, special aunts and uncles Randy (Eilleen) Junk, Lynn (Steve) Krupka, David Meyer, Mark Meyer, Teri (Jeff) Ebersol. She is further survived by the entire VanderHeyden Family and many other relatives family and so many friends.
Nikki was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Ervin and Annette Junk, her paternal grandfather Michael Meyer.
Gathering of family and friends will be held from 12:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Celebration Church 3475 Humboldt Road. A Funeral and Celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 P.M.
The family would like to offer a warm and heartfelt thank you for all the outreach from the entire community for the love and support for our "Beautiful" Nicole during this time of tragedy~ your love and kindness will never be forgotten.

I didn’t get meet Nicole fully.. I remember getting to meet her little after being close friends with her son. Will say for-sure it’s sad. I will for sure will say this is saddest thing to come back and see but it’s an emotional and memorable thing to keep in my mind. Prayers Nicole and may you rest easy!

Grief can be so hard I didn´t know Nicole but I came across this & I just want to say I am truly sorry for your loss losing someone is so hard & it is not easy at all by any means I would like to say things get easier but I truly don´t think they really do It´s never easy losing someone especially someone who seemed like a sweet amazing person honestly I´m so sorry for your loss & I wish your family the best I feel so bad for her Kids & can only imagine the pain her Kids are going through so so so sorry I am truly sorry for your loss.

I have heard Nicole's story several times and it is a truly devastating one. She seemed to be such a beautiful person inside and out who loved her children. I am so sorry for this loss, and I know that she is now looking down on her family. God bless you all.

I didn't know Nichole but just listened to a podcast about what happened to her and I am so sorry! I felt compelled to pray for her children and family. What happened to her was so senseless and unneccesary. Again, I am so sorry for the loss of this beautiful young mother. You are just a beautiful individual. I could always hear your laughter from across the room. It was so contagious. You are so thoughtful. I remember you gave me my kitty's first toy. At the time, I didn't even know you that well yet, but you knew I got a kitty so you brought it to work. It was seriously his favorite. He dragged it into bed every night at 3 am and jingled the bell until I woke up. :) That's just who you are. Thoughtful and beautiful!
