Robert Woelfel Obituary

Robert "Bob" Woelfel, 77, of Lake Mills, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday May 19, 2012, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Watertown with Rev. David Groth officiating.

Relatives and friends may call at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown on Friday, May 18, 2012, from 5-8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10a.m. until the time of the service.

Robert Woelfel was born on October 12, 1934, in Charlestown, WI, the son of Hugo and Hildegarde (Meyer) Woelfel. On August 25, 1956, he married Mary B. Pudlo in New Holstein, WI.

Bob served in the United States Navy for four years. He earned his teaching certificate from UW Stout, retiring from Green Bay Correctional Institution after 25 years of service. While at the correctional institution, he worked as a teacher and then as a laundry supervisor. Bob had his private pilot's license and owned his own plane. He enjoyed boating on his bay home in Dyckesville, WI, where he and his family had lived for many years.

Bob is survived by his wife Mary of Lake Mills; three children, Cindy (Jerome) Diederich, De Pere, WI; Robert Melvin Woelfel, Vulcan, MI; Lynn (Andy) Block, Watertown; four grandchildren, Melissa Diederich, Michelle Diederich, Robert Lewis Woelfel, Elliana Block; three sisters, Marge Bofinger, New Holstein; Marilyn Nett, Jefferson; Carol (Roger) Beck, New Holstein; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Melvin Woelfel, and a sister Ronalda Konopka.
