Samuel Davis Obituary
Samuel Albert Davis, 89, passed away suddenly on July 5, 2011, in the comfort of his home in Green Bay, Wis. He was born on July 3, 1922, to Ernest and Estelle (Berendsen) Davis in Mountain, Wis.
Sam is a World War II Veteran who served a four year term with the United States Coast Guard, stationed out of Long Island, N.Y. After the service he spent the next 30 years as a tree surgeon with Davis Tree Service as well as an employee at Atlas Cold Storage in Green Bay, Wis. He was an avid golfer, bowler and loved to spend some of his spare time fishing. More importantly, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judith (Kath) Davis; sons, Sam (Janice), Houston, Texas; James, Green Bay, Wis.; Richard (Rebecca), Sturgeon Bay, Wis.; and daughters, Peggy, Green Bay, Wis.; Susan (Jeff) Dykes, Columbus, Ind.; sister, Esther (Harold) Marquardt, Peshtigo, Wis.; as well as nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Estelle Davis; brothers, Ernest (Irene) Davis, Raymond; and sister, Elsie (Ken) Mullen.
Sam will be honored and his life celebrated by family and friends on Friday, July 8, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Living Hope Church, 1840 W. Mason Street, Green Bay, Wis.
He is loved and will be very much missed by family and friends.
