XENIA — Charles "Chuck" Edward Merriman, age 81, of Lynchburg, OH passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023 at his residence. He was born on January 10, 1942 in Xenia, OH to the late William Sr. and Georgia (Luttrell) Merriman. Chuck is survived by special friend: Joyce Gregory of Lynchburg; siblings: Patricia (Russel) Harris, Thomas (Janet) Merriman, and Sue (Paul) Morris, all of Xenia; sister-in-law: Janet Merriman; granddaughters: Karleigh and Kyleigh Berry; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his brother: William Merriman Jr. Chuck was a 1960 graduate of Xenia High School. Afterwards, he served in the United States Air Force. He retired from United Grinding in Miamisburg, OH after 45 years of service. Chuck was a life member of AmVets Rocky Fork Lake Post 61 in Hillsboro, OH and American Legion 694 in Mowerystown, OH. He was also a member of the Old Timers Club and Highland County Antique Power Club, where he avidly collected Minneapolis Moline Tractors. Chuck attended Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. In his free time, Chuck loved to play golf. Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at McColaugh Funeral Home, Xenia, with Pastor Tom Zile officiating. Private burial will be held at Dayton National Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:30 AM-12:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers: memorial contributions may be made to: Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, 8230 US-50, Hillsboro, OH 45133. Sorry to hear Charley has passed. I served in the Air Force with him for 4 years most of that time at Wurtsmith AFB. He and his wife stayed with us for a short time till they found a place of their own in Michigan. He was a good guy.
