Doris Oster Obituary

XENIA Doris Dean Oster,77, of Xenia, passed away Monday evening, November 26, 2012, at her residence. She was born August 8, 1935, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Edward and Edith Sayers Donahue. She was a member of Faith Community United Methodist Church. She retired from the Xenia Daily Gazette and worked for the Xenia City Schools after the 1974 tornado. She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Suter, and Karen (Perk) Reichley, of Xenia, a son, Richard J. Oster, and friend, Debra Prystaloski, Dayton, nine grandchildren, David (Tiffany) Reedy, Russell (Buffy) Reichley, Douglas (Amy) Reichley, Dow Michael Reichley, Justin Oster, Alyssa Oster, Libby Oster, Leyanna Oster, Steven McCoy, seven great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, six step-great-grandchildren,by a sister, Mary Ann Grooms, Xenia, a brother, Joe Donahue, Greenville, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gerry (Sue) Oster, Springboro, a sister-in-law, Madeline Donahue, Dayton, by several nieces and nephews, and by many close friends, including her faithful dog, Cole. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Lee Oster, on February 10, 2006, a son-in-law, Bill Suter, by two sisters, and by three brothers. Doris will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Services will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 1, 2012, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 10am Saturday, until service time. Burial will be in New Burlington Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Miami Valley, 46 N. Detroit St., Xenia, OH, 45385. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com.
