XENIA — Elijah Lewis Rinehart, age 59, of Xenia, Ohio passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Greene Memorial Hospital. He was born May 14, 1954 in Pickens County, Alabama, to the late Johnnie L Lang. Lewis was a graduate of Xenia High School class of 1972 and attended Central State University for two years. After one tour in the Army, he made his home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he was a truck driver and had other jobs. In December 2008, Lewis returned to Xenia with his mother who was recovering from a stroke. A member of United A.M.E. Church, he attended bible study on a regular basis. He was a member of the Sanctuary Choir and Mighty Men's Chorus. Lewis enjoyed singing and praising the Lord. Lewis was proceeded in death by his mother, Johnnie Lee Lang; grandparents, John W. Lang, Sr. and Annie L. Lang, two uncles, John W. Lang Jr. and Rich E. Lang. He leaves to cherish his memories, aunt and uncle, Lula L. Lang-Jeter (James) of Arlington, Virginia; aunt, Lucy B. Lang of Yellow Springs, Ohio; cousins, Gerald Leslie Lang (Mary) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Darwin Wayne Lang of Xenia, Ohio and Dr. Sandra Lang of Terre Haute, Indiana and other friends and relatives.
