BEAVERCREEK — Janice "Jan" Smith, age 87, of Beavercreek, OH, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024. She was born on November 09, 1936, in Glasgow, KY, to Wm. Jackson and Eva Thelma Horton. Jan was the youngest of 7, 6 girls and 1 boy. All were waiting in heaven for her. She married young to Wendell C. Britt, dec'd, then later in her life married W. Scott Smith, dec'd. She is survived by her children; Terry (Arliene) Britt, Howard Britt, and Tina (Donald) White; grandchildren, Shana (Justin) Scafone, Luke (Mary) Britt, Arika (Josh) Payne, Lindsey (Roy) Tucker, Carly Britt, Bengemin White, Spencer Britt, and Charlotte Britt. Great-grandchildren Colton, Justin, Alania, Gracie, Zacary, Carson, Chloe, Sophia, Trinity, Vincent, and Jackson. One Great-great grandson, Rylan, as well as loving nieces and nephews. Jan worked for several years at the Beavercreek Board of Education's Copy Center and was a very successful Realtor in the Beavercreek area. She enjoyed going to the casinos, working in the garden, and playing cards with lifelong friends Marty and Sandy Cumins. She loved being part of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 763 in Beavercreek. Most of all, Jan adored her family. A viewing will be held at Beavercreek's Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 11:00am-1:00pm, followed by the funeral service at 1:00pm. Jan will be laid to rest at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 763 in Janice Smith's name.
