BEAVERCREEK — Julia Margaret Finchum, age 81, of Beavercreek, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021. She was born to the late Donald and Ethel (Vincent) Sheppard on May 27, 1940 in Ipswich, England where she grew up. She met Danny Finchum, a farm boy from Indiana, in 1960 while he was serving in the U.S. Air Force and stationed in England. After just a few dates, Danny told his friend he would marry Julie one day. They were married the next year on October 7, 1961, and traveled to several countries and the U.S. before settling in Beavercreek in 1988. Julie was a true animal lover, passionate about animal rescue, volunteered at SICSA for over 20 years, and has supported His Hands Extended Sanctuary, Paw Patrol, and Tenth Life for many years. Julie was very knowledgeable of antiques and collectibles and was an integral partner to Danny in his auction business. Julie was loved by many people she came in contact with through Dan's Auction Service. Julie was preceded in death by her brother, Rex Sheppard; aunt, Gert Hadgraft and uncle, Arthur Hadgraft. She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Danny; her blessed and eternally grateful children, Stephen Finchum, Robert Finchum, Donna (Marc) Bowman, and Scott Finchum; grandchildren, Kelly Finchum, Emma Bowman, Madison Finchum; and beloved fur babies, Hazel, Rosie, Mickey, and Little Girl. Family will greet friends from 2-4 PM on Sunday, December 5th at Routsong Funeral Home, 2100 E. Stroop Road, Kettering to honor Julie with a Celebration of Life. Memorial services will begin at 4PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to one of the above animal rescue groups.
