BEAVERCREEK — Larry D. Combs, age 72, of Beavercreek, passed away September 5, 2021. He was born September 24, 1948 in Fort Knox, Kentucky; the son of the late Mazie Christine (Roseberry) Geus. In addition to his mother, Larry is preceded in death by his step-father, William Geus. Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Joyce; children, Jeremy (Emily) Combs and Christopher (Catherine) Combs; grandchildren, Aubrey Elizabeth and Lily Sophia; sister, Sandra Kumbusky (Thomas Mayenschein); brother, Michael Geus; and many extended family members and friends. Larry worked at General Motors and after retiring, began working beside his wife as a Financial Advisor. Larry was a member of the UAW retirees and the American Sailing Association for many years. He loved to spread the word of God as he completed missionary work in Mexico. Some of his hobbies include: building fences and landscaping; and he enjoyed the outdoors. Larry was also an avid collector of art and plants. In his free time, he would vacation to Florida with his family and would tell stories to his grandchildren. Larry was the perfect family man would do anything for anyone. He will be dearly missed by everyone, especially his family, who knew him as the best husband, dad, and grandfather. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 at 1 PM at the Hillside Chapel, 3515 Shakertown Road, Beavercreek, OH 45430. Family and friends may visit from 11:30 AM until the time of service. Larry will be laid to rest at Byron Cemetery. Online condolences may be made out to the family by visiting www.BeltonStroup.com.
