XENIA — Louise A. Young, age 91, of Xenia passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 in Greenville, South Carolina, where she had been living to be closer to her daughter since last fall when her health declined. Louise was born in Louisville, Kentucky January 12, 1930, the daughter of Albert and Claudie (Bryant) Nacke. In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Young; an infant son: Robert Alan Young; 2 sisters and 4 brothers. She is survived by her daughters: Cindy Rae (David) Schultz of Xenia and Amy (Dave) Shumaker of SC; grandchildren: Katy (Eric) Hair; Robert and Julia Shumaker; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Louise had been a faithful and devoted member of the Dayton Ave. Baptist Church since 1962, serving on various committees and teaching Sunday School. She had the gift of hospitality, preparing countless meals for church events, welcoming visitors and ministering to those in need. Louise was a Registered Nurse serving the Xenia Community at Greene Memorial Hospital, the Greene County Health Dept. and retiring as School Nurse with Xenia Public Schools. She completed her nurses training at Louisville Methodist Evangelical Hospital, Class of 1951, and later earned her Bachelor's Degree from Central State University in 1986. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dayton Ave. Baptist Church in memory of Louise. Services will be held11:30 AM Friday, September 3, 2021 at Dayton Ave. Baptist Church, 1121 Dayton Ave., Xenia with Pastor Jon Young officiating. She will be interred with her husband at Valley View Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held 10:30 AM until the time of service at the church.
