XENIA — Mary Lea Spatz, age 68, of Xenia, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 23, 2025 at Soin Medical Center. She was born May 27, 1957 in Xenia, Ohio, the daughter of Warren G. and Evelyn C. (Weigel) Pease. Mary graduated from Xenia High School, Class of 1975. She retired from Wright Patterson AFB, where she was proud to have been awarded the Teal Award for Excellence in Configuration and Data Management. She loved all things purple. Mary also enjoyed camping and doing crafts, especially scrapbooking and embroidery. She enjoyed her friends from the "Fab 4" a ladies grief support group. Mary never knew a stranger and was always willing to help people, giving them support and offering a friendly face and a smile. Her most important and favorite past time was anything that involved her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her siblings: James Pease, Joanie Pease, Susan Collins, Beverly Ossege, brother-in-law: Richard Ossege and father-in-law: Ronald G. Spatz. She is survived by her husband, Michael A. Spatz, whom she married July 28, 1984; daughters: Brandy N. Fite, Scarlet K. Fite and Yvonne Fite, all of Xenia; grandchildren: Haley, Kobey, Shelby and Sadie Fite; Emery Sipe; Laura Cloud Fallynn Holten; 3 great grandchildren: Elijah, Ariah and Olivia; a brother: Thomas W. (Marianne) Pease of Miamisburg; mother-in-law: Joanne Spatz; brother-in-law: Michael Collins; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and an abundance of friends who were considered family. A celebration of her life, will be held 5 PM Thursday, August 28th at McColaugh Funeral Home, 826 N. Detroit St., Xenia, with her brother Thomas W. Pease offering words of comfort.
