Della Bales Obituary
Della Sue Bales, 82, of Greeneville, passed away Sunday evening at Life Care Center of Greeneville.
She retired from MECO.
She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children: Johnny (Louise) Sparks, Brenda (Jeff) Ellison, Michael Sparks (Sharon Cutshall), and Sherry (Michael) McGhee; a daughter-in-law: Diane Sparks; stepsons: Ronnie Bales and Leslie Bales; grandchildren: Matthew Sparks, Valerie Dotson, Jason Dotson, Joey McGhee, and Melissa (Allen) Collins; and several great-grandchildren.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband: Henderson "Hank" Bales; a son: James Sparks; an infant daughter: Carolyn Bales; her parents: Charlie and Minnie Bowens; three sisters; and two brothers.
The family expresses a special thanks to her caregivers at Life Care Center of Greeneville.
The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. Wednesday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in Doughty-Stevens Chapel with the Rev. Tommy Melton and the Rev. Michael Melton officiating.
Family and friends may gather at Doughty-Stevens at 10 a.m. Thursday to travel in procession to Jackson Chapel Cemetery for an 11 a.m. committal service.
Pallbearers will include Melissa Collins, Allen Collins, Donnie Wills, Jerry Wills, Jason Dotson, Joey McGhee, and Matthew Sparks.
