Donald Tobie Obituary

It is with a heavy heart his daughter announces the passing of her Dad, Donald "Jack" Tobie, 78, who left us Aug. 30.

He was a retired employee of Norfolk Southern Railroad.

He was a cherished father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda and David Burgner. He took immense pride in his family, including his grandchildren, two granddaughters: Kendra (Alec) Salem and Allyson Burgner; and one grandson: Cory (Alicia) Malone. His legacy continues with two great-granddaughters: Cora Mae Malone and Alia Elizabeth Salem. He leaves behind his loving brother: Bill (Wanda) Tobie; two sisters: Betsy Manis and Kathleen "Kat" Tobie Sauceman; and a sister-in-law: Ann Harris Tobie. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

He was proceeded in death by his parents: Roy L. and Ada M. Tobie; two brothers: Alfred Tobie and David K. Tobie; a sister: Camilla "Janice" Morgan; a sister-in-law: Deborah "Debbie" Tobie; and two brothers-in-law: Wiley Morgan and George Manis, who welcomed him with open arms in the hereafter.

Family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his life and remember the joy he brought to those around him. His family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bewley's Chapel Cemetery.
