Born: October 20, 1938 | Died: February 9, 2026
Esther Livingston Rice, age 87, of Raleigh, NC, formerly of Mohawk, passed away Monday evening at Rex Rehab in Raleigh.
Esther was a Christian, a homemaker, and a devoted caregiver.
Survivors include one daughter: Judy (Rick) Denny; one son: Robert (Dawn) Livingston Jr.; grandchildren: Jamie (Chris) Thomasson, David Swanay, Christy (Troy) Moorman, Derrick (Kameron) Livingston, Zach (Cheyenne) Livingston, and Kari Livingston; six great-grandchildren; one sister: Rachel Carter.
She was preceded in death by husbands: Robert Livingston Sr., Howard Kite, and Junior Rice; parents: Opal and Edmond Stubblefield; twin sister: Hester Cobb Davis.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 14th, from 1 - 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Hope Church in Mohawk. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. with her grandson, Rev. Derrick Livingston officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Livingston, Zach Livingston, Ralph Barnes, Mitchell Cox, Zach Holt, and Chris Carter.
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
