Freda Morelock Obituary
Born: November 2, 1942 | Died: January 28, 2026
Freda Morelock, age 83, of Afton, passed away early Wednesday morning at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
She was a retired school bus driver with the Greene County School System and a member of Chuckey Methodist Church. She was formerly active with the Modern Woodmen of America.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Rodger Morelock; daughter, Debra (Gene) Sasscer; son, Dwayne (Michelle) Morgan; step-daughter, Cindy Morelock; five granddaughters: Kristie (Dean) Ray, Lisa Sasscer, Erin Morgan-Waldrop (Preston), Beth Morgan (Nic Scheel), and Emily Morgan (Cade Leonard); two great-granddaughters, Taylor and Madison Ray; brother, Ralph Jones; sister-in-law, Jane Jones; and several nieces and nephews.
Freda was preceded in death by her mother, Selma Jones; sister, Shirley Lamb; brother, Terry Jones; and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Jones.
The family will receive friends at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home from 2 - 4 and 5 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3rd. Funeral services will follow at 7 o'clock Tuesday evening in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Randall Emmert and Rev. Paul Winchester officiating.
Friends and family are asked to meet at Doughty-Stevens at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to GreeneLawn Memory Gardens for the 11 a.m. committal service. The Rev. Tracey Jones will officiate.
Active pallbearers will be Terry Rollins, David Weems, Cade Leonard, Dean Ray, Preston Waldrop, Nic Scheel and Eric Broyles.
