Jim Smith

Born: August 3, 1948 | Died: February 11, 2025

Jim Smith, 76, of Greeneville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday.

He was a graduate of Greeneville High School and received a bachelor's degree in accounting from East Tennessee State University.

He was the owner of Jim Smith Pest Control.

He was a member of First Church of God.

Jim was an Eagle scout, an avid pool and poker player, a Tennessee Football fan, and a big Vol Track fan. Jim had a good sense of humor and enjoyed telling jokes. He had been involved in numerous organizations and clubs: Elks, Moose, Bass Club, and Jaycee's.

Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law: Christy and Dustin Moore; three grandchildren: Autumn, Tehya, and Brock; one brother and sister-in-law: Leonard Smith Jr. and Kim; nieces: Laura Ann (Mike) Mitcham; a nephew: Chris Smith; and great-nieces and great-nephews: Craig, Ashley, Rachel, Michael, and Sydney.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents: L.G. and Mildred Smith; a twin brother: Bill Smith; and a nephew: Craig Smith.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel with the Rev. Nathan Leasure and the Rev. Ralph Shipley officiating.

Jim will be laid to rest beside his twin brother in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens in a private family service.
