Johnny Idell Obituary
Johnny H. Idell, 76, of Limestone, passed away Monday at his home.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
After retirement, he was a carpenter and worked part time at Tipton's Sawmill.
The family expressed a special thank you to his Veterans Affairs Primary Home Care Team, caregivers from Caris Hospice, very many special friends and neighbors, and two special caregivers, Ann and Catherine from Home Instead.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Faye Ryans Idell; a daughter and son-in-law: Carla and Gary Shoemaker; two grandsons: James and Samantha Shoemaker of Norfolk, Virginia, and Cody and Donna Shoemaker; a great-grandson: Ethan Shoemaker; a brother and sister-in-law: David and Teresa Idell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Betty Ryans, Dinah Idell, Ivan and Sherry Ryans, and Jerry Ryans; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents: Orlan and Pauline Idell; two brothers: Gene Idell and Lynn Idell; and a sister: Patsy Hensley.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Friday at Jeffers Funeral & Cremation Service, Afton chapel.
A graveside service will follow in Graceland Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Oscar McAmis officiating.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
