Born: October 13, 1963 | Died: March 7, 2025
Joy Darlene Brown Miser, 61, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully Friday morning with her family by her side at the Johnson City Medical Center.
Darlene loved to listen to South Greene ball games, play bingo with her mother, and try to be the correct caller to win something from WGRV.
Darlene left behind cherished memories and is survived by her husband and best friend: Jesse Miser Jr.; two sons: Justin Brown and Dustin Miser; one daughter: Tiffany Miser and her fiancé: Joseph Dupkoski; her fur baby: Rambo; one granddaughter, who was the light of her life: Emily Dupkoski; her mother: JoAnne Lee Starnes; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Beverly J. (Ricky) Waddell and Collen Mallicote; a brother and sister-in-law: Chad (Carolyn) Starnes; a nephew: Joshua H. Cobble; a niece: Logann (Tyler) Pierson; one great-nephew: Maverick Pierson; aunts: Rebecca (Byron) Chambers, Elizabeth Massey; an uncle: Steven Darnell; and many cousins that she loved.
Darlene was preceded in death by her father: Daniel Chase Brown; a brother-in-law: Kenneth Mallicote; her grandparents: Wayland and Ruth Darnell, James and Ollie Brown; and her mother-in-law: Arlene Creech.
The family expresses a special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of 4th Floor and ICU at Greeneville Community Hospital East and to Johnson City Medical Center for their loving care of Darlene.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no formal visitation or service.
Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.
