Paul Brown Obituary

Paul Brown

Born: September 23, 1941 | Died: October 1, 2025

On October 1, 2025, Paul Edward Brown entered into rest at his home in Whitesburg, TN, surrounded by his family. Paul was born on September 23, 1941 in Greene County, TN to Scott and Nanny Brown.

He married the love of his life, Joann Stanton on December 8, 1961. They were married 62 years up to her passing on April 15, 2024.

Paul was born again, making him a member of God's one true church. He loved the Lord and was a man of deep faith. He attended Bible Truth Mission for worship where God's church meets.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Joann, parents: Scott and Nanny Brown, brothers: Carl, Guy, Clifford, Talmadge and Clay; sisters: Bonnie Elkins, Betty Jennings and Mary Brown.

He will be deeply missed by his children: Michael (Sherri) Brown, Angela (Billy) Marshall and Michelle (Ernie) Rice. Grandchildren: Mikala Brown and Christopher Sauceman; great granddaughter: Zara Brown. Sister: Virginia Gentry and a special nephew, Gene Elkins.

Paul started his wood working career at an early age working for Roy L. Bailey Company, "Bailey's Sawmill". From there, he went to Berkline where he served for 30 plus years, retiring as the plant superintendent. He continued his wood working career as a supervisor for Lea Industries. After retirement, he went to work for Brown's Custom Fencing and Construction.

Paul was a humble man that never got caught up in materialistic things of this world. He had a servants heart and always put others before himself. Paul was a farmer and loved supplying his neighbors with vegetables from his garden. He enjoyed trout fishing at Paint Creek. His passion was attending gospel meetings, learning about God and His ways, and listening to the bible on tape for hours at a time. His life was a testimony of his love for Jesus. In his final days, as death drew near, he was praying, singing and giving praise to God for being so good to him. Paul loved his family and showed it every day.

Visitation for Paul will be held at Stubblefield Funeral Home in Morristown from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Friday, October 3, 2025. Services will follow at 7:00 pm with Bro. Mike Brown officiating. Family and friends will meet at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 4, 2025 at Hamblen Memory Gardens for graveside services.
