Ruby McDaniel Obituary

Ruby Alice McDaniel

Born: August 18, 1934 | Died: February 24, 2026

Ruby Alice McDaniel, 91, of Greeneville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday shortly after 4 p.m. at Life Care Center of Greeneville in the presence of her sons.

Born on August 18, 1934, Alice was a devoted Christian, a loving mother, and a woman of quiet strength and grace. She took great pride in making her own clothes, crafting each piece with care and creativity. Her heart overflowed with compassion, and she generously supported causes close to her heart, including the Wounded Warrior Project, Disabled Veterans, and the Humane Society.

Alice cherished her travels with her dear husband, John, Sr., and found deep joy in family. She was a faithful mother to her sons, John, Jr. and Michael, and a doting grandmother to Eli, Samantha, and Shannon, whose lives she enriched with love and wisdom.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John, Sr. and her son, David McDaniel.

The family will receive friends from 4 - 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3rd, at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 4th, in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel. Dr. David Green and the Rev. Mark Laughlin will officiate. Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to one of the causes Alice supported, such as the Wounded Warrior Project, Disabled Veterans, or the Humane Society.

Alice lived by her faith, and her favorite verse, Psalm 2:12, reminds us: "Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him." Her legacy of kindness, faith, and quiet devotion will live on in all who knew and loved her.
