Theresa Giesen

1943 - 2025

Giesen, Theresa E. "Terry" (Helin), age 81, passed away suddenly on September 1, 2025. Terry was a longtime resident of Blaine, MN, and also spent over a decade in Greeneville, TN.

Terry had a deep love for helping children. She served as a paraprofessional in the Anoka-Hennepin School District for many years and later assisted at childcare centers in Greeneville. Her greatest joy, however, was her children and granddaughters. She was the original Hockey and Dance Mom-always cheering from the sidelines, attending every performance, and celebrating each accomplishment with pride.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Margaret Helin; her husband of 52 years, Leo; her sister-in-law, Sally Helin; and her brother-in-law, Joe Giesen. She is survived by her loving children, Jeff (Karla), Gina, Julie, and Annie; her cherished granddaughters, Josie, Janelle, Delaney, and Maleah; her sister, Pat Helin, and brother, Jack Helin; sisters-in-law Mary Jo Giesen, Helen Giesen, OSB, Bernadette Florey, and Cindy Giesen; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held at Gearty-Delmore Plymouth Chapel, 15800 37th Ave N, Plymouth, MN 55443, on Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 2–5 p.m., with a remembrance/prayer service at 4 p.m. Private burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
