Tim Ivan Smith, 70, of Greeneville, entered into eternal rest on Thursday at his home.
He was a loving husband, dad, and papaw.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years: Mary Helen Smith; one son: Billy Lynn Smith; one daughter: Tammy Jane Bender; four grandchildren, who were his world: Karry Smith, Tristan Ivan Bender, Michaela Bender, and Adrianna Giglio; sisters: Mitzi (Roger) Hayes, Debbie (Joe) Griffey, Judy (Richard) Gosnell; brothers: Eddie Smith, Ronnie Smith, and Gary Smith; a brother-in-law: Bobby Laws; a sister-in-law: Trish Malone; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and four special great-nieces: Nicole Watts, Jasmine Watts, Courtney Watts, and Sabrina Watts.
He was preceded in death by his parents: James and Edith Smith; a brother: Roger Smith; and a sister: Janet Ellenburg.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. in Doughty-Stevens Chapel with the Rev. Solie Griffey officiating.
Family and friends may gather Monday at 10 a.m. at Doughty-Stevens to travel in procession to White Rock Family Cemetery for an 11 a.m. committal service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
