Born: July 25, 1941 | Died: May 13, 2025
Tommy J. Brockwell, age 83, of Chuckey, passed away Tuesday morning at Durham-Hensley Health and Rehabilitation. He retired from Magnavox.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Janie Brockwell in 2020; parents: Earl and Maude Pleasant Brockwell; siblings: Shirley Adcox, Doris Brockwell, Judy Davis, Erma Staten, Kenneth Paul Brockwell, Robert Rex Brockwell, and Jack Donald Brockwell; great-nephew: Joshua Brockwell; and his dog: Spike.
Survivors include daughters: Sandra Shelton and Brian McCrary, and Tammy Shelton; nephews: Pete Reaves and Donald Brockwell; grandchildren: Heather and Monty Beck, Brittany Shelton, Natasha Shelton, Lorin and Todd Reynolds, Hunter Teslow, Robert Dean Shelton, Roxanna Shelton; great-grandchildren: Nila Moody, Haden Mauk, Issac Moody, Cole Reynolds, Zaiden Schacke, Mason Green, Zain Schacke, Cyrus Reynolds, Harper Green, Bentley Beck, Leo Wyatt Belanger, Mary Jane Belanger, and Noah Shelton; several nieces and nephews; special friends: Dalton Stephens, Regan "Princess" Stephens, and Meghan Foley. Tommy loved all animals and was especially fond of his dogs: Fred and Spike Jr.
The family extends special thanks to Durham-Hensley, his special caretaker, Brooke; to Amedisys Hospice Staff; and to Harley Davis, a caregiver with Always Caring.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Doughty-Stevens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the Doughty-Stevens Chapel. The Rev. David Reese will officiate. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lorin Reynolds, Todd Reynolds, Monty Beck, Hunter Teslow, Brian McCrary, Zaiden Schacke, and Scott Reaves.
