Dennis L. Bechdol

Dennis L. "Denny" Bechdol, 78, of Fountaintown, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at his home.

He was born March 25, 1943, in Indianapolis, the son of Ralph L. and Betty L. (Cochran) Bechdol.

Denny is survived by his son, Chris Bechdol and wife, Jennifer, of New Palestine; daughters, Nish Schwanke and husband, Larry, of Ocala, Florida, and Leigh Ann Bensley and husband, Tracy, of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren, Holly, Loren, Matthew, Taylor and Avery; six great-grandchildren; and other close family, The Hancock's.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Denny graduated in 1962 from Triton Central High School.

As a child, he was a member of the Carrollton Methodist Church.

Denny was a lifelong farmer. He also worked as a tool and die maker from 1964 to 1998, until retiring from Elmco, which was formerly Ideal Engineering in Beech Grove.

He was also a member of Sertoma.

Denny was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting. He liked spending his time at the Fisherman's Cove in Dugger.

He also enjoyed playing euchre with various card clubs and eating with his lunch group.

Denny loved cats and leave behind his cat, Golda "Kittykat."

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Frazier Chapel, 124 E. North St. in Morristown.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
