Randal Schaekel Obituary
He was a business owner and enjoyed racing street cars, cooking and buying, selling and trading.
He is survived by his children, Mitzi (Brian) McCarthy, Tonya Schaekel (Mark Brumfield), Rachael Deeds (Joshua), and Ivan Schaekel; 6 grandchildren; 12 great-granchildren; sister, Verla Schaekel; mother of children and good friend, Mary Reinhardt; and dog, LuLu. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan and Kathryn Schaekel; and siblings, Darl Schaekel, Marita Beaty, and Judy Stuck.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. with Rusty Schaekel officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington East Hill Cemetery in Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the National Down Syndrome Society, 8 East 41 St, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10017 or envelopes will be available at the mortuary. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
