Sally Jones-Laubin Obituary
In Loving Memory of Sally Anne Jones
Sally Anne Jones, born Sally Anne Laubin, lived a life steeped in music, language, and grace. From her earliest days in Hartford and Windsor, Connecticut, to her final years in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, Sally's journey was one of deep curiosity, cultural richness, and unwavering dedication to education.
A gifted linguist and passionate teacher, Sally's love for French, German, and Spanish shaped the minds of generations at Eaglebrook School, where she taught for over five decades. Her time in France, her advanced studies, and her innate ability to connect with students made her a beloved mentor and a pillar of the academic community.
Sally's artistry extended beyond the classroom. A trained ballet dancer from the age of five, she carried the discipline and beauty of dance into every aspect of her life. Her musical heritage, rooted in a family of accomplished artists, echoed in her devotion to the Hampshire Music Club and her joyful participation in the "Bonjour" language group.
In retirement, Sally remained a vibrant force-tutoring, volunteering, and enriching her community with the same warmth and intellect that defined her career. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the students she inspired, and the family who loved her dearly.
She is survived by her brother, Jonathan Reed Laubin, his wife Erlinda, and her cherished nephews and their families. Her memory will be honored at a memorial service on December 13 at the First Church of Deerfield, followed by a reception at Eaglebrook School-a place she called home in heart and spirit.
Sally's life was a symphony of service, scholarship, and soul. May her memory be a blessing, and may her story continue to inspire.
