Dr. William Michael Kallman Ph.D.

Dr. William Michael Kallman, PhD, 75, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025, at Community North Hospital, Indianapolis. Bill was born March 18,1947, in New York, NY to Dr. Edward Kallman and Doris Schatzburg Greene. Bill obtained his undergraduate degree from Lynchburg College in 1969. While in college he met the love of his life, Mary Jeanne Davis, and they later wed on December 20, 1969. Bill went on to earn his doctoral degree from the University of Georgia and he completed a clinical internship at the University of Mississippi 1975. Mary also obtained her doctoral degree from the University of Georgia in 1976 and she worked as a neuroscientist.

Bill was a licensed clinical psychologist by trade. He taught psychology at Virginia Commonwealth University, the University of Mississippi and at the University of Indianapolis. He also held his EMT certification license. His love for assisting and helping others was evident by his volunteer work. Some of his volunteer passions included being head of the Hospital Guild and driving for Meals on Wheels. His favorite pastimes were fishing and gardening. He also loved cats.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Mary of 55 years; nephews, Barry Greene and Matt Kallman; and Mary's family, including sister-in-law, Susan Sorrell; brother-in-law, Thomas (Tina) Davis; nieces, Amanda Davis, Mary Ellen Sorrell, and Nick McCollum; and many beloved cats.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; three half-brothers: Macolm Kallman, Chester Kallman, and Edward Greene; and nephew, David Sorrell.

Stillinger Family Funeral Home, Greenfield, is of assistance to the Kallman family during their time of loss. At this time, a memorial service will be held in the Spring.
