GREENSBORO ALPHEUS JOHNSON BUCK GRESHAM, JR. passed away January 27, 2016, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was the son of A.J. Gresham, Sr. and Sue Webster Gresham of Durham, NC--where he was born (6/29/1932) and raised. After graduating from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, he served our country during the post-Korean conflict as a first lieutenant in the United States Air Force. Upon being honorably discharged from the military, Buck spent his early business career in the financial services sector and related industries. Later in life, he was a general contractor.A resident of Greensboro for over 55 years, he very much enjoyed being a member of Green Valley Golf Club and the Greensboro Elks Club, treasuring the friendships made, which lasted a lifetime. He was a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church.Buck is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Betsy (Elizabeth Kennedy Gresham), and their four children; Jim Gresham (Kathy) of Hilton Head, SC; Elizabeth Denny (Mike) of Charlotte, NC; Bob Gresham (Naomi) of Durham, NC; and David Gresham (Kim) of Pea Ridge, AR. Also surviving are grandchildren Stephanie Gresham, Kimberly Gresham, and John Denny. He is also survived by his sister, Frances Gresham Heald of Durham, NC.A memorial service will be held at a later date.
