Alice Lewis

1954 - 2025

Alice Anita Lewis (née Smith), a cherished wife, mother, and beloved grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, in her home in Greensboro, North Carolina. Born on February 7, 1954, also in Greensboro, she was 71 years old at the time of her passing.

Alice dedicated her life as a homemaker, Her passion for the ocean often led her to the beach, a place she adored.

She had a thirst for knowledge and stories, diving into books of every kind with enthusiasm and curiosity. This love of reading not only enriched her life but also inspired those around her.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Elsie Cooke and Alfred Smith, as well as her brothers Ronnie and Buddy Smith. She is survived by Philip Lewis, the love of her life and husband of nearly 54 years.

She is also survived by her children: Dawn Lucas (Steve Schaefer), Cynthia Rider (Matt), Philip Jr. (Ragan), and Jeremy Lewis. Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Cameron Clark (Courtney), Maggie Rider, Daniel Rider, Baxter Lewis, Alexa Lewis, Evan Lewis, Ethan Lewis, Adrianna Lewis, and one great-grandchild Alice on the way. Alice is also mourned by her sister Mildred Strader, brother James Paul Smith, numerous nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of extended family and friends.

Alice was always willing to help those in need, offering a hand or a listening ear whenever it was needed.

A celebration of Alice's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory and celebrate her life. She will be remembered as a person whose spirit will continue to inspire and uplift all who were fortunate enough to know her.
