JAMESTOWN Arthur George Lempp, 84, a resident of Jamestown, passed away on Thursday evening at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born March 6, 1934 in Queens, New York, the son of the late Arthur George and Eleanor Elizabeth Smith Lempp. Arthur retired from Western-Electric (Lucent Technology) where he was a systems analyst. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of the National Guard. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Alice Cotter Lempp of the home; daughter, Eileen Lempp Stroud and husband Randy of High Point; sons; Kenneth Lempp of Westerville, Ohio, Robert Lempp and wife Claudia of Cary, John Lempp and wife Sara of Greensboro, Andrew Lempp and wife Jennifer of Alexandria, VA; 11 grandchildren, Erin Hagg and husband Matt, Justine Tillerson and husband Brady, Corrine Lempp, Whitney Stroud, Brian Stroud, Grace Lempp, Rachel Lempp, Samuel Lempp, Mason Lempp, Sophia Lempp, Claire Lempp and four great grandchildren, Peyton, Lauren, Brooks, and Davis. A rite of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 4145 Johnson St., High Point, NC 27265 officiated by the Reverend Thomas P. Norris; O.S.F.S. Interment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until service time. The family would like to thank Arthur's caregivers; Megan Hayes, Allie Seay, Jodie Phillips, Lauren Swicegood, and Tina German. Memorials may be made in Arthur's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 8th Avenue, New York, New York 10001 or to Hospice of the Piedmont, 1802 Westchester Dr. High Point, NC 27262.
