Barbara Hobbs Mashburn, of Greensboro, N.C., passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the age of 79.
Born in Greensboro on October 19, 1946, Barbara was the daughter of the late James N. Hobbs, Jr. and Mary Atchison Hobbs. She spent her career as a Printer at Guilford County Schools and was an active member of Hunter Hills Evangelical Friends Church. She was an avid bowler for many years and enjoyed spending time with her extended family. She was a loving individual who touched the lives of all who knew her.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Earl Mashburn; nephew, James B. Helms (Marjie); niece, Jennifer Helms Deaton (Eddie) and their children Burke and Piper; and many other in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her sisters, M. Rachel Hobbs and Ann Hobbs Helms.
Visitation will be held at Hunter Hills Evangelical Friends Church at 1201 Merritt Drive on Friday, November 21, from 1 to 2 p.m. A memorial service will be held immediately after the visitation to be followed by interment at New Garden Friends Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hunter Hills Evangelical Friends Church.

My heart is so sad. I met Barbara through my mom, Frances Sears, who worked for the Greensboro City Schools. I also knew Barbara's sister, Rachel. Barb and I were BFFs for 50+ years. We met with GCS retirees for monthly dinners at Laddies & Dukes, enjoyed beach trips and other events. I was also honored to be a bridesmaid when she and Earl got married. I have so many memories of our times together. I knew and lived all her family members as if they were my
own. She will be greatly missed by her family and all of those who knew her for many years, especially me.
