Bettye Moody Obituary

CREEDMOOR Bettye Roberts Moody, 91, a lifetime resident of Granville County, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Duke University Hospital. Bettye was born January 1, 1928, in Granville County to the late Battle C. Roberts and Hazel D. Roberts. She was a member of First Baptist Church Creedmoor and was a homemaker. Bettye was a community volunteer for many years and her home away from home was Finch's Restaurant in Creedmoor. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2019, at First Baptist Church Creedmoor by Rev. David Richardson. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens. She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne Moody Smith (Ben); brother, Gary Roberts (Barbara), sister, Jean Rouse (Ben); grandson, Lawton Perry; several loving nieces and nephews, all of Creedmoor; and a close friend, Mark Grindstaff. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Donald (Don) Moody; son, Vann Lawton Moody; and sisters, Madeline Steel and JoAnne Allen. Visitation will be held prior to the funeral service in the Family Life Center from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m., Monday, January 14, 2019, at First Baptist Church Creedmoor. Flowers are kindly accepted or memorials may be made to First Baptist Creedmoor, P.O. Box 38, Creedmoor, NC 27522. Online condolences can be made to www.eakesfuneralhome.com. Select obits. Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor is assisting the Moody family.
